Ponta Negra beach is located on the neighbourhood of its own name in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte.
It is the most famous urban beach of the capital and the most visited by locals and tourists.
Ponta Negra beach is over 4km long. In the extreme south of the beach is located the Morro do Careca (the bald hill), a very famous tourist point and postal card of the city and only 2km away from the Coral Plaza. On the other side: the Via Costeira is famous for being side-by-side with the Parque das Dunas (Park of the Dunes) and for having innumerous hotels in its extension.
Along the beachside, there is a beach promenade where you will find bars, restaurants, hotels, small shopping galleries, etc. The promenade‘s also used for jogging and cultural activities.
At night, Ponta Negra is very busy. The streets have many bars, restaurants and nightclubs to indulge the tourist with various rhythms, including our traditional Forró Pé-de-Serra, a typical Northeastern dance.
